Thanks for coming back! Don't miss a good deal! Be sure to subscribe to my RSS feed, Sign up for Daily Emails, Follow Me on Twitter and Follow me on Facebook. Thanks for visiting!

I love taking pictures and I have thousands of them on my computer. I keep every single one until I have time to go through them all and weed out the bad ones, or fix the ones that are good enough to share. Then I print some out for display in frames or to post on the fridge and then others I scrapbook. (I love to scrapbook but since I started this blog I’m so behind!!!).

When I was asked to review a photo management system called Aurora I was super excited because I knew this was something I could really use since I have so many pictures. Aurora makes editing, organizing, sharing and storing digital images so quick and easy anyone can do it. I downloaded and installed the software in just a few easy steps. It immediately showed all my folders that I have pictures in and I found it really simple to use.

Aurora’s Key Features:

o Visual photo editing: The strength of Aurora lies in its intuitive, powerful, visual editor which presents suggested improvements in a what-you-see-is-what-you-get fashion. The unique relight tool essentially “turns on” the light inside the image, creating better, more realistic photos. Users can also straighten, adjust color strength and warmth, crop, zoom and adjust red-eye in a simple, intuitive and visual way.
o Organizing and viewing of photos: Aurora allows consumers to easily import photos from their camera or computer, re-arrange and re-name them, then tag and rate favorites for easy viewing and retrieval.
o Sharing and publishing: Aurora enables consumers to email, print, and connect directly to their photo sharing, social networking and accounts from within Aurora making it easy to share select photos online on sites like Flickr and Facebook.
o Online back-up: Photos are one of those truly irreplaceable items. Aurora’s optional online back-up service is powered by Amazon.com and stores photos to keep them out of harm’s way. Online back-up plans are available for $4.95 per month. Users can simply hit “online back up” from within Aurora to sync directly with their Amazon storage account.

What I really liked best was when I selected a picture I wanted to work with, it automatically darkened and lightened the photo a few different ways so I can see how it would look, rather than me having to do it manually. I found that to be a huge time saver when editing pictures. You can see in this example below. Along the top are the different options you can choose from.
This program does such a great job fixing pictures that come out too dark. We all have them, I know I do. Here are two examples of how well it fixes them:

I absolutely love to take pictures in general but especially of my 7 month old daughter, she's just so cute! My fiance (along with everyone in my family except my mom who is my photo takin buddy) complains that all we do all day is take pics. Might be true since we had almost 300 pics by the time we checked out of the hospital with my baby girl! LOL
