pink together 2 It’s unfortunate that most people know someone who has dealt with Breast Cancer whether it’s a family member, friend or a friend of a friend. A friend of mine from college found out she had Breast Cancer right around the time we all turned 30. She fought a good fight for almost 5 years but unfortunately she lost and passed away last year. I’m so sad to think of how young she was and how unfair it was that cancer won but hopefully someday every women will be able to beat Breast cancer. That is my hope.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and I wanted to share with you a community that has been formed on My Space called Pink Together where everyone can share hope by posting and reading inspiring stories of breast cancer survivors and supporters within the community.

The site is part of Pink Together®, a national campaign to support those impacted by breast cancer and to help raise awareness of the disease. To support Pink Together, General Mills is donating $2 million to Susan G. Komen for the Cure® and is turning the packaging pink next month on an assortment of its most beloved brands. General Mills will also donate $1, up to $20,000, each time you post a comment of encouragement, send a virtual flower bouquet or share a story on Pink Together in October.

To help generate awareness, My Blog Spark and General Mills sent me an Inspiring Hope gift basket and they would also like to give one to my readers.

The person that inspires me the most is my aunt DD. She is the most patient, non-judgemental person I know and I hope to be like her.

One of the people in my life who inspires me the most is my friend Kathy. She was diagnosed with breast cancer last October. She was determined to fight the illness and did. I could have never been as strong as she was. Her determination, I believe, led her to her remission.

My Mom inspires me. She has been through so much trauma and pain in her life and she will never be well again, yet she still continues to smile and take care of everyone. I am a lucky woman to have a Mom like her.

My mom is an inspiration to me. She was a stay at home mom with 5 kids, and she was the type to always be at our sports events, band concerts, etc. Now she keeps in touch and is always ready to laugh or cry along with me. I hope I can be as good a mom as she is.

My family recently lost a close friend of the family to Breast Cancer, So I would have to say that she inspires me. She fought to the end and even when she knew she wasn’t going to make it she stayed strong for everyone else. It was very emotional. I find the Pink Together Community inspiring because it is a cause/that is so needed for all the women that go through this awful disease and also for the ones that stand by their side. RIP Regina <3
