Last year was the first year that I actually got up at 4:30AM to go stand in line at Walmart. They had so many toys I wanted to get my girls at such great prices, I couldn’t not go! I saved SO MUCH money and my store wasn’t as crazy as I thought it would be. I pictured it a complete mad house. Don’t get me wrong, it was very busy, but they had the store well organized with pallets in the middle of the main aisles so you didn’t have to crowd down each aisle, which was very helpful.
After I left there I headed over to CVS to grab a bunch of things that were FREE after rebate. There was no one there so I didn’t have to wait in line, which was nice. CVS starts their Black Friday Sale on Thanksgiving Day but they still had plenty of items in stock, I was very impressed.
I enjoyed shopping on Black Friday but part of that was I live in a small town where the population isn’t the same as if I went shopping in Warwick, RI. I’m sure those stores were a mad house. Then my shopping experience wouldn’t of been as good.
It was well worth it my time to get up very early to get these bargains. It was even better that I was able to shop alone, which is something I don’t get to do very often so maybe my motive is more the shopping alone time, not sure. LOL Either way I plan on doing it again this week.
I haven’t planned out my entire morning yet, but I do have Walmart on my list to get the Kids’ licensed character sleepwear that is $3.00 and the $7.00 fleece reversible jackets for the family. I bought some of the sleepwear last year and wished I had bought more in bigger sizes. At that price I was crazy not too so I’m not going to miss them this year.
I’m going to be going to CVS because I need another Universal Remote and from what I’ve read so far online, there is one FREE after ECB’s again this year. I’m also thinking of stopping by Staples and after that I’m not sure yet. I do know that I’m going to be looking for some great deals on Wii games because we recently got one and now we want to stock up on the games, but I’m NOT paying full price!
But at any rate I will be up and out the door VERY early Friday morning and I’m excited to do it. You won’t hear me complaining about the early hour because I know I’m going to save a lot of money and that’s what’s important. I can always take a nap later in the day, my husband has the day off.
So who is going out Friday morning to fight the crowds? What are you hoping to get? Share with us, I’d love to hear!

I went to CVS last year too and bought a 5 pack paper spine notebook and some quality pens for $3 dollars
I dont know if I am going to get up super early for the deals this year.
I’m over here in CA and planning on going to Walmart as well for the $3 sleepwear. I know from past experience going to Best Buy and Target on Black Friday that it’s definitely going to be a complete mad house. Actually, my line-up is the Disney Store at midnight, then Old Navy at 3am and then Walmart. I agree, the savings are worth the lack of sleep. I hope I survive =) !
I need to take a look at the Disney store sale and see what’s good, thanks for that tip. Have fun shopping!!
